Should I Get Invisalign®?

Should I Get Invisalign®?

When we look at television, movies, magazines we all see the famous actors with perfect smiles. When I think of the perfect smile I think of George Clooney. Who do you think of? While having a “movie star”
smile might not be priority for you today, there are important reasons to fix crooked teeth, including:

  1. Cavities: Crooked teeth that are crowded together make it difficult for a tooth brush and floss to get into and cover all the areas of the teeth. This leads to bacteria growing in the crowded areas leading to cavities.
  2. Gum Disease: When teeth that are crooked and crowded in the mouth, the gums cannot fit snuggly around all the teeth. This leaves more room for bacteria to grow and can lead to gum disease.
  3. Bad Breath: People with crooked and crowded teeth can experience bad breath from the bacterial growth resulting from difficulty in brushing and flossing their teeth.
  4. Incorrect Bite: When teeth are not aligned properly you don’t get a proper bite. This causes teeth to hit incorrectly creating all sorts of damage such as chipping, wearing the enamel down, stress on tooth sockets, etc.
  5. Chewing Difficulties: We may not often think about the fact that chewing is the first part of digesting our food, but it is a vital stage in the process. When chewing is not adequate because of an improper bite, food is not properly broken down which causing a weak link in our digestion.
